Safeguarding

All members of staff in our school are committed to safeguarding all our children

We work to:

• Provide a safe environment for our children

• Support children and families using early intervention strategies

• Develop our children’s understanding of how to keep themselves safe

• Identify where there are child welfare concerns and act to address them, in partnership with other organisations where appropriate

• Notice and take appropriate action to help any of our children who are either at risk of, or are suffering from, significant harm

Designated Safeguarding Lead: Mr Glynn (Headteacher)
Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead: Mrs Knight (Deputy headteacher)

Our Team Around the School (TAS) is a partnership between school, Stockport Family and other agencies. We'll work together with parents to offer early help and support.

Services involved in the TAS want to support the development of relationships with families to make sure professionals and parent/carers are working together.

Appropriate information will be shared when additional support is needed or requested for children and families (following government guidance on information). Families working with the TAS team will have access to support from our designated family help co-ordinator, our linked social worker and allocated school nurse.

To access any support or for a confidential discussion, please do not hesitate to speak with Mr Glynn, Designated Safeguarding lead.

Operation Encompass

Operation Encompass is the reporting to schools, prior to the start of the next school day, when a child or young person has experienced any domestic abuse.
Operation Encompass will ensure that a member of the school staff, (Designated Safeguarding Lead- known as a Key Adult), is trained to allow them to liaise with the police.

They are also trained to use the information that has been shared, in confidence, while ensuring that the school is able to make provision for possible difficulties experienced by children, or their families, who have been experienced a domestic abuse incident.
