RECEPTION NATIONAL CHILD MEASURING PROGRAMME
NCMP - PLEASE READ THE ATTACHED LETTER
Every year in England, children in Reception and Year 6 have their height and weight measured as part of the National Child Measurement Programme (NCMP) Your child’s class will take part in this year’s measurement programme.
A routine hearing test will also be offered to reception children. Hearing tests are routinely carried out soon after birth which can help identify most babies with significant hearing loss. Testing hearing later in childhood can pick up any problems that have been missed or slowly getting worse. It is important to identify hearing problems as early as possible because they can affect a child’s speech and language development, social skills and education.
